31st October 2019, UMP Library has organized an internal Sistem Index Perpustakaan (SIP) Workshop for Library staff. Sistem Index Perpustakaan or SIP is an in-house indexed UMP Library collection platform.

SIP as an indexed database that lists selected words, representing topics available in each page of the library materials. The SIP also adapt the style of Library Encyclopedia Britanica, in its searching process. The SIP will benefit students, lecturers, researchers and anyone who wants to access the library reference materials UMP from UMP Library. This workshop was conducted in Pekan and Gambang UMP Library. The hands-on workshop focuses on giving participants the experience of the indexed system. Emphasis is given on learning how to add the data from the library collection to an index. Each indexer are required to confirm the status of the data whether it is to update or to add. Traversal typically correlates to the data collection policy. 24 staff attended the two session hands-on workshop with detailed explanation and guide on how to use and understand the system.
