From 13 November 2024 to 15 November 2024, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Library (UMPSA) has participated in the Konvensyen Kumpulan Inovatif & Kreatif (KIK) Horizon Baharu organized by the Bahagian Jaminan Kualiti, Pusat Pengurusan Strategik dan Kualiti (PPSK) Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). This year the event was held at the Dewan Serbaguna, UMPSA, Pekan Campus with a total of 21 groups from various departments and centers within UMPSA competing in the convention.

The organizers offer 4 primary categories of awards. Among the awards are Anugerah Khas Juri, Anugerah Persembahan Terbaik, Anugerah Buku Projek Terbaik, Anugerah Harapan (Perak and Emas), Third Place Winner, Runner-up and Champion. In addition, there are also 4 awards chosen by the audience, which are the Anugerah Kumpulan Popular, Anugerah Montaj Terbaik, Anugerah Prop Persembahan Terbaik and Anugerah Slide Terbaik.

The Catalyst Group has successfully won the Anugerah Harapan. In addition it also received the Anugerah Penarafan PERAK. The library, represented by the Catalyst group consisting of 7 members, presented a project titled 'Unintegrated Space Reservation System' on 14 November 2024.

In order to overcome the problems identified in the project, an internal system was developed starting in June 2023, known as the Library Online Reservation System (LOReS), which started to be utilized in March 2024.

The data collected by Catalyst group shows the impact of reduction in terms of time, as well as savings in terms of development costs because it was created in response to the Library's requirements and by the staff of the Library.

Izuddin bin Izhab@Baharom, Cik Ratna Wilis Haryati binti Mustapa and Pn. Faizatul Nadia binti Mohd Amran for their success as Catalyst members. The utmost appreciation is also given to the Catalyst Facilitator, Cik Amelia binti Hasan for the commitment and achievements of the UMPSA Library Catalyst.

This award is a catalyst for future KIK Library groups to achieve greater victories and awards in the future.
