Podcast to Discusses Pathways for SPM graduates with UMPSA – 6 April 2026

Pekan, 6 April 2026 – The Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Library organised a podcast session titled “Sembang Santai: Ilmu, Buku dan Inspirasi – Lepas SPM Ke Mana? Jom Bina Masa Depan Gemilang Bersama UMPSA”, held at the Inclusive Digital Hub Studio, Inclusive Services Centre, and broadcast live via the UMPSA Library’s Facebook page.
The programmed featured invited panelist Zainal Bahari, Director of the UMPSA Marketing and Academic Admissions Centre, while the session was hosted by Norsaini Abdul Samat,Senior Library Assistant.
This informative discussion aimed to provide views and guidance to students who have completed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) in planning their educational pathways with UMPSA.
According to Zainal, applications through the Unit Pengambilan Universiti (UPU) are not only open to students who completed SPM in 2025 but also to those who completed SPM in 2023 and 2024.
Interestingly, students from non-STEM streams, including Humanities, Literature, and Professional Studies (KSI), are also eligible to apply for programmed offered at UMPSA.
He also advised students not to choose their field of study based solely on peer influence, but instead to consider their own interests and review the entry requirements for each programmed offered.
The sharing session also highlighted UMPSA’s strengths as a technical university focusing on engineering and technology, in line with industry needs and national aspirations through the national industrial plan.
He added that this advantage makes UMPSA graduates more competitive through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills that meet current job market demands.
Statistics show that UMPSA’s graduate employability rate has reached 99.1 percent, demonstrating the university’s capability in producing high-quality graduates.
Students from foundation and diploma programmed also could further their studies at the degree level at UMPSA, while benefiting from various welfare initiatives provided by Yayasan UMPSA to support those in need.
In terms of student development, UMPSA offers the ADAB Academy to produce graduates who are well-balanced in both academic and personal development.
Learning facilities such as the UMPSA Library have also embraced digitalization through the LibGO application, enabling students to access services such as borrowing, returning, booking materials, and paying fines online.
Meanwhile, the programmed host, Norsaini Abdul Samat, successfully conducted the session in a relaxed and interactive manner, making the discussion more accessible, especially to SPM graduates and parents.
