After the introductory session, the session was continued by Mrs. Affida to deliver a briefing on the literacy material search guide. Participants were informed about the steps to start searching for materials more systematically. In addition, participants were also explained with search techniques and tips in the database that is using the correct keywords, material filtering methods to obtain relevant materials, and guidelines for obtaining materials other than on the platform provided by the library.
Participants were also given hands-on instruction on how to use Mendeley as a reference manager tool during this session. There were some participants who had used this tool before but had no idea what other methods or tricks they could use. Mrs. Affida also answered some questions from the audience about the collection search and Mendeley use before the session ended. All of the participants were also able to generate in-text citations and reference lists using the Word plug-in. It is hoped that all participants will be able to put what they have learned into practice. Hopefully, those who are able to attend will be able to share this information with their friends.
