Library Prefect Study Tour from SMK Indera Shahbandar Resource Center (PSS)

March 5, 2024 - The UMPSA library received a visit from SMK Indera Shahbandar. Resources Center which consists of 35 library prefects and 2 teachers.
This visit aims to provide exposure to students on the facilities provided at the UMPSA Library. In addition, students will gain basic knowledge of Library management through sharing and briefings given by UMPSA librarians.
The program started with a welcome speech by the Deputy Head Librarian (BPP), Mr. Ahmad Nurudin Abd. Nasir. He welcomed the arrival of the school's library prefect and as an introduction, he also shared a little information about the library.
The tour continued with a brief briefing on the UMPSA Library related to facilities available, public membership and general services offered by the library. The briefing was delivered by Mr. Muhammed Fawwaz Abdul Rasid, Customer Service Unit Librarian. The library prefects of the resource center were also taken on a tour around the library as one of the Library Tour activities.

Information related to library services and collections was provided by Mrs. Nor Ashikin Ahmad, Senior Librarian from the Education & Research Unit. The library prefects were also introduced to referral services that serve to meet the educational and research needs of the university. library prefects can distinguish between the types of collections offered in the library and in the school resource center. After the briefing session, questions and answers are opened to the students and souvenirs are given to those who are able to answer the questions correctly.
The program ended with the exchange of souvenirs between SMK Indera Shahbandar and the UMPSA Library. It is hoped that this program can achieve its objectives and will be continued in the future.
