On 02 August 2024, the Knowledge Management Unit held a Knowledge Sharing Program: Technology Update titled New System in the Library - eResources system zProxy Hosted) & LoRES System (Library Online Reservation System). This knowledge sharing that focuses on the latest developments and the benefits of these two systems. It was delivered by Mr. Mohd Arifin bin Abdul Aziz, System & Application Unit Librarian.

The knowledge sharing session via Microsoft Teams took place for 2 hours started at 10.00 am, with the participation of 52 staff from Pekan and Gambang. Also participating in this sharing session were the Chief Librarian, Miss Hajah Kamariah Gono; Deputy Chief Librarian (Knowledge & Digital Management Division), Mrs. Noorul Farina Ariffin; and Deputy Chief Librarian (User Services Division), Mr. Ahmad Nurudin Abd. Nasir.

Mr. Mohd Arifin started the sharing session by announcing new link conversions and methods of accessing all electronic resources such as databases, e-books, e-journals and e-standards via the eResources system. Library staff were shown a demo of how to use and access eResources from the UMPSA library portal at https://library.umpsa.edu.my/index.php/en/ecollection/eresource. In addition, Mr. Ariffin also explained the difference between the EzProxy (Standalone) and EzProxy (Hosted) systems.

In the next session, Mr. Mohd Arifin shared about the Library Online Reservation System (LOReS), which was developed by the Catalyst Team, the KIK group of the UMPSA Library for the year 2024. This system has been operating since March 2024 without involving any additional project costs. Throughout the use of the system, positive feedback has been received from users due to the convenient reservation system.
