Knowledge sharing on Mendeley Reference Manager Module with lecturers from Politeknik Muadzam Shah - 27th Sept 2023

On September 27, 2023, the Universiti Malaysia Library Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) has received an Educational Visit from the Department of Mathematics, Science & Computer, Politeknik Muadzam Shah (PMS). A total of 10 lecturers and 26 students have participated in this visits.
This visit aims to provide exposure to the participants about the facilities provided and how to further expand the reference sources of the participants. In addition, for the participants whom are also first semester students, this visit will be a new experience for them with the initial exposure of the faculties in particular and the public higher education institutes in general.
Various activities and programs was planned to welcome the participants visits which includes library introduction briefings, library tours, programs user education briefing on "Mendeley Course" and Library Explorace. The Customer Service Unit was helpful in providing explanation regarding the library to the participants. The Education & Research Unit manages the Mendeley Course teaching session program with lecturers and Library Exploration with students.
The Mendeley Course session with the lecturer was led by Mrs. Nor Ashikin Ahmad, Senior Librarian of the Education & Research Unit. Slide presentation titled Mendeley Reference Manager Module was shared together and session question and answer was also held. The lecturers were given explanations relating on the method of downloading Mendeley software, techniques for entering material into Mendeley Library, how to make citations and bibliographies and how to use Mendeley comprehensive. At the end of this session, the lecturers will be able to understand and make citations and bibliography using software that has been downloaded.
This visit provides an opportunity for UMPSA librarians in conveying and sharing information. Indirectly, it has also helped the lecturers in managing their teaching materials so that at the end of the day, their teaching materials and research are correctly managed. Hopefully the knowledge shared can benefit the participant
