The 'Moh Peka KKP Perpustakaan UMPSA' program increases the awareness of occupational health and safety in the workplace (15 - 17 October 2024)

Pekan, 17 October 2024 - The Occupational Safety and Health Committee (JKKP) of the Library organized a program themed 'Moh Peka UMPSA Library Occupational Safety and Health' from 15 - 17 October 2024 at the UMPSA Library in Pekan and Gambang. The program's aim was to increase the awareness among university students, especially librarians, on occupational safety and health (OSH) through various activities and knowledge sharing.

Interesting activities that were carried out included the Library KKP Mini Booth which was on October 15 and 16 in the lobby of the Pekan and Gambang UMPSA Library respectively. The mini booth provides visitors with useful information about KKP and interactive reading material. It was well received, especially among students who wanted to know more about the safety aspects of the library.

On October 16, the program continued with Mini Healthy Eye Checkups from Efkeyo Optometry and FS Optical, offering free eye checkups to UMPSA residents at the Pekan and Gambang Library lobby. The eye examination attracted the attention of many who took the opportunity to get eye care advice from an experienced optometrist.

In addition, the Library KKP Quiz held over two days on October 15 and 16 also enlivened the atmosphere of the program. This quiz tests the knowledge of staff and students about safety and health in the workplace, while increasing the participants' knowledge through the questions provided.

The highlight of the program was the OSH Talk: Protection for All – The Importance of Safety and Healthy Lifestyles at the Workplace on 17 October, which was delivered by Puan Nurul Nadia Ummira Binti Abu Bakar, Assistant Director of JKKP State Pahang. This session took place in the Pekan Library Executive Lounge and was broadcast live on the UMPSA Library's Facebook page, allowing more campus residents to participate remotely.

The 'Moh Peka KKP Perpustakaan UMPSA' program succeeded in giving exposure and deepening the awareness of the participants on the importance of safety and a healthy lifestyle in the workplace. JKKP Library hopes that this initiative can be continued to create a safer and healthier campus environment.
